IMPORTANT:The Traction Wars is based on the amazing series of books (Mortal Engines, Predator's Gold, Infernal devices, A Darkling Plain) known as The Hungry City Chronicles by Philip Reeves. This RPG is purposefully made so you don't need to know about the books to play, and we like to encourage non-readers as much as anyone else.

Note: This map is just an artist's impression, and I in no way claim for it to officially depict Reeve's world.

Welcome to a post-apocalyptic world where cities move around on wheels. A world where there are two opposing sides, the Tractionists, and the Anti-Tractionists. A world of pirates, of thieves, of warriors, of aviators and merchants. Welcome to a world of War.

Ever since the extremist Green Storm took over the Anti-Traction League, ever since London blew itself up trying to bring down Batmunkh Gompa, battles have been getting bigger. With more and more Old Tech being dug up, with more and more Stalkers roaming the earth, battles are getting more dangerous.

Want to know what the heck I'm talking about? Then read on...

Ancient History
Long ago, in the 21st Century, the Ancient people of the earth were at war. They possessed terrible weapons of destruction, atomic missiles, virus bombs etc. Then, in the Sixty Minute War, they managed to wipe out nearly the whole population of the world. The survivors built themselves cities that moved so they could avoid danger, and soon all the knowledge and technology of the Ancients was lost. The land was scarred, America became a barren war-strewn continent, the Mediterranean was sunken in sea, and the North became an uninhabitable strip of ice.

To this day, the best form of travel is by airship, and all the Old Technology dug up from the ground is the only knowledge left of the Ancients.
